Today's Pro-Life Reflection
(From Frank Pavone's
Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day
)
March
30
"Love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD" (Leviticus 19:18).
Reflection:
The command "Love your neighbor" does not have distinctions, limitations, or exclusions. It includes our unborn neighbors. And to love them "as yourself" does not simply mean to love them "to the degree" that you love yourself; it means first to recognize them as a person like yourself. The "pro-choice" mindset is, ultimately, just another form of prejudice, this time directed at the people still in the womb.
Prayer:
Let your command of love, O Lord, free us all from the prejudices that distract us. Open our eyes to see every human person as our neighbor, and to act accordingly. Amen!
